FLAT TIRES AND POLICE CARS

Ok... so let me just say... WHAT A DAY! So, as many of you know I'm a nanny to the most precious boy in the world! Well, on Wednesdays, I always take him to go and visit his grandparents. On the ride home down 400 mind you my tire blew out as I was going almost 70mph!!! So, needless to say that was CRAZY!

As I'm sitting on the side of the road with no way to hardly even get out of my car there are other cars flying past me at least going almost 80! At this time in a panic... I call my wonderful husband at work to figure out what to do! Then, to my surprise a black car pulls up behind my car... out steps an ATLANTA POLICE OFFICER!! GOD IS GOOD!! So, she actually hit the same thing that I did and her tire was flat too. She calls for back up and then a tow truck! So, we wait for what seems like eternity especially with a 2 1/2 year old saying over & over, "did you get a flat tire?"

About that time.... here comes the tow truck guy and yet again I'm thankful that God has sent me two police officers because no offense but this guy was SCARY! He looked like he came right out of Adventures in Babysitting with Elizabeth Shue, for those of you who have never seen that movie I know you have no clue what I'm talking about. For those of you who do know... IT TOTALLY HAPPENED TO ME TODAY!!!

So for towing me like 3 miles down the road I got to pay $105 dollars... Oh yeah!! So I was towed somewhere off of Piedmont Road.... Andrew and I got to take a ride with the other police officer that had showed up to the scene! Haha! I never thought I would see the day with me sitting in the back of a police car looking through a cage to my precious Andrew! Just so that everyone is aware... If you go to North Point or Buckhead Church or whatever... I am a good woman! I just had a flat tire!! They weren't taking my kid, and I didn't get arrested!! He's not even my kid!! So, Andrew had a big time! He loved the siren and was great comic relief to me and the police officer!

So, for all who are reading... if you are going to get a flat on 400, I just recommend that you do it trying to time it ever so slightly to make sure the same thing is about to happen to an officer!! Thanks to them and thanks to this big God who always is in control of every situation! It's because of Him I was able to take the time to laugh at this!! Thanks for keeping me and that precious boy safe!

God Bless-

THANKSGIVING TOMORROW

So, just one day until Thanksgiving!! Yeah!!! Can I just say that no one should be going to the grocery store unless it is life or death! I went to Whole Foods last night, and I thought I had fallen deep into a black hole that I was never coming out of! Quite scary!

Also, I got to the dentist yesterday and with only minutes the appointment ended. My dentist got a phone call as I was coming in that her brother had just died from cancer. She was a mess, as anyone would be. So for those of you that read this, please say a prayer for her and her family during this time... I can't imagine, especially during the holidays too!

Anyways, I probably won't post tomorrow so I just wanted to say how thankful I am for this life that I have. That I wake up every morning and breathe and laugh and sometimes cry. I am so grateful for this great big God that has given me life. I owe everything to Him. I am thankful for my husband... who puts up with me day in and day out. I am thankful for all of my friends because they make me laugh even when I may not feel like laughing. Also, I'm thankful for my friends who allow me to be the "baby whisperer." You know who you are!! I am also extremely thankful for my family and that I can be with them tomorrow. I am thankful that most every Sunday I get up and sing in front of lots of kids and help them learn about this God that made each one of us so uniquely and who has a plan for each and every one of us! Well, I guess that's enough mush, but what would Thanksgiving be if I couldn't give "thanks" right?? So, I hope everyone has a great day and that everyone can just relax and enjoy the time that they get to spend with their families.... I know that I will!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

MONDAY-BACK TO REALITY

So, here we are at a start of another week. The weekend was super busy and not all that fun! My mom had surgery on Friday afternoon, so it was a crazy weekend trying to care for her and getting her home before Sunday. I had to sing at the church on Sunday which is always fun. It's always a great start to my week!

It's Monday now, and I'm looking forward to the short week. I think it's the only reason I'm happy about it being Monday! Haha! So, not too much going on.... Back in the gym today I still unfortunately have to put 5 days a week in, and holidays don't count to not make sure that it happens. I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving with my in-laws still, and just getting some quality time in with the husband.

Friday is going to be a great day... what better to do on Friday than to shop! Oh yes! I also get a break from KS this week, so that will be nice too! Well, here is to another week.

IT'S FRIDAY

So, it's Friday.... I'm awake here at almost 7:30am, but been up since about 6am. Oh what fun!! My mom is staying with Jonathan and I this weekend because she is having surgery this afternoon. Hopefully everything will go well for her and the weekend can stay fairly laid back!

Jonathan will take this time to work on his portfolio and build some more models. I will take care of mom, and I am singing on Sunday at the BrownsBridge. Pretty laid back. I've got one more day to complete at the gym today and I will have made it successfully there for 5 days in a row for the 2nd week!! Yay me!! I hope to see some results soon.

So, I guess we all can see that nothing really exciting is going on this weekend in the Baker house! Still looking forward to next week... not much work and Thanksgiving!! Yes! It will be nice to be with family on that day! I am so very thankful for each of them! Well, I'm off to finish a day at work, care for my mom, and get ready for Sunday. I'll be back on Monday.

THE BAKERS- Jonathan and Heather

So, this is me and my wonderful husband Jonathan... I'm new to this, and so I have to try out like every way to post things on here so you may see this again. I'll figure this out and acutally post some other pictures! Thanks!

STARTING THE BLOG

Hello everybody!! Well, I finally decided to start a blog. It seems as though everyone else has started one, so I figure that I might better start one myself. I don't really know what I will write, but I will just figure that out as I go.

So, I can't believe that it is already November. Thanksgiving is so close!! That means that my 1st Wedding Anniversary is getting really close as well! Jonathan and I will be celebrating one year of marriage together on December 9th. Time really goes fast, and I can't believe that we have already been married for a year! So much has happened over this year. I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving... Much needed time with my in-laws, so that will be nice. I always enjoy Jonathan's mom's cooking... she's the best, although she would never admit it! It will be nice to all be together that day! Then, the next week starts what I like to call Birthday Extravaganza week. I don't even know if I spelled that right! Anyways, on the 29th is Jonathan's birthday, then his brothers is on the 30th followed by his mom's on the 1st of December and she's turning 50! So, all of that to say it's one crazy week of birthdays, and we have to make her birthday extra special because it's a big one!!

Jonathan is in the process of getting his portfolio together to send off through December/January to schools for his masters degree. We need much prayer as we try to make the decision for his school, and for our life. It's all very exciting, but can also be stressful too! Other than that, we are just enjoying our time together and I'm looking forward to many more years with him! Marriage is a wonderful thing... it's nice to not have to go home at night anymore! I would recommend it to anyone! :)

Well, I guess this first blog has been a success. I'll try my best to keep it up!
